The Oct. 1 benefit at Metropolis for the family of Denis Blanchette is getting bigger. Ben Harper, Martha Wainwright and Dumas have been added to the schedule.
Harper will drop in and perform before his own concert at the Maison symphonique de Montréal, a spokesman for organizer Équipe Spectra said.
Previously-announced artists on the bill are Céline Dion, Arcade Fire, Patrick Watson, Coeur de pirate, Ian Kelly, Vincent Vallières and Karkwa’s Louis-Jean Cormier.
Blanchette, a technician, was killed outside Metropolis during the Parti Québécois’s victory party the night of the provincial election. All proceeds from the event will go to the Fiducie Denis Blanchette, to benefit his family, specifically his daughter Amy. The show, of course, is sold out, but you can click here to make a donation.
